For the 3rd year in a row, Men’s Health magazine will be holding its annual All-Terrain Race in Timberland Heights, San Mateo, Rizal. In true Men’s Health fashion, the event is a celebration of people who have embraced the magazine’s lifestyle. The event will take place on June 15, Father’s Day, and promises to trump the past two in terms of participation and prestige.
For those who have no idea what the race is about, you’ll be running up sloping hills instead of level paths. You’ll be biking on rough terrain and encountering steep drops as opposed to well paved roads. Do you have what it takes?
I hope I do. For the first time, I will be joining the All-Terrain Race (Haven’t decided though if I’m going to run or bike). If I find the time to bring my bike up there and train, then I would rather do that, […]

My girlfriend had already been blogging since 2003 when I found out what blogging was. Not that I’m competing with her, but I just realized that it took me only 7 months to reach what it took her 6 years to do — reach a hundred posts. I’d also be the first to tell you though, that quality wise, I think I have a long way to go. Visit her new blog and you’ll know what I mean.
Over the past few months, I also realized that this is a dedication. Slowly but surely, my misconception that blogging was nothing but an online attempt for self promotion also started to wane. All of these realizations came to be just because I wanted to write. Write about how I feel, whenever I feel like it. This is who I am. And this blog is a daily collection of my own Jerry Ma-****ing […]

Though I did not know Aling Lucing personally, I can’t help but feel sad about what happened. Trust me, the one hour drive to Angeles is well worth it. Though I’ve given up on beef and pork, I think it’s safe to say my first taste of her sisig was a life changing experience. Seriously.
Farewell Aling Lucing. May your sisig reciple will live through the ages.

One more case of only in the Philippines for your enjoyment.
The now famous “Ben’s Burjer” has its original home at the Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club where Abalos and other players in the controversial national broadband network agreement that includes First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo had met with officials of China’s ZTE Corp.
I don’t know if this is a serious business venture, or an attempt to mock the Philippine justice system. Whatever it is, I couldn’t care any less. Read the full article here.

Five months after my first post about GamesMaster, and I’m finally done with my story. Everyone who was able to read (love it or hate it) a copy of GamesMaster should be thankful to the following people for making it possible.
Lisa Gokongwei and Aurora Mangubat, for deciding to bring in a videogame magazine
Denis del Callar and Neil Palabrica, for giving me the chance to make my own decisions.
Ed Geronia, Jaykee Evangelista, and the rest of the GM staff. Next to the FHM people, I think we had the most fun at the office
The Summit Advertising Team. Special mention to Cha Clarino and Ginger Taduran (O wag na masama loob) for literally hitting our monthly quotas by themselves.
The Production, Circulation, Trade, Web, and Events teams, for making GamesMaster’s presence felt in the three years that it was on the newsstands.
Of course, my fellow Associate Publishers, for […]

I was just reading the news on IGN earlier today when I saw an item on World of Warcraft — 10 million subscribers worldwide. To put things in perspective, that’s roughly one-tenth of what the Philippines’ population will be in 2030.
“It’s very gratifying to see gamers around the world continuing to show such enthusiasm and support for World of Warcraft,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re always pleased to welcome new players to the game, and we’re looking forward to sharing the next major content update with the entire community in the months ahead.”
There have also been numerous claims about bringing over the game to the country. From LUG and Egames, to AMDG, the none of those rumors ever came into fruition. The license may have just proven to be too expensive not just for the aforementioned companies, but for gamers as well.
It put things into […]

Jamario did it. So did Bosh (this was lame by the way). The only difference is, those two only used the wonders of viral marketing to promote themselves. Kobe Bryant is using it to promote his newest kicks in this video.
The question is - is the video fake or not?
There is no doubt in my mind that the guy can do it. I just don’t think he would risk being labeled as the baller who won the MVP award, just to have a stupid career ending publicity stunt in the same year. Anyways, aside from Ronnie Turiaf’s bad acting, you can spot the giveaway at 00:34. The shadows are clearly not aligned.
