Nope.
It’s not the song title from a 1965 hit song popularized by James Taylor. It’s the sweetness of winning 2nd place in the recently concluded MBS Tek Bowling Tournament. Yehey!
We are just hoping to win for the 3rd spot. Fortunately, with all the team effort, our group landed in Sweet Second beating the two other competitive teams. It was a nice game indeed.
Rewind. . .
“Gabby, deretso lang ang tira.” - Rico, The Captain
“Gabby, control the movement” - “Rainier
“Gabby, four steps lang dapat.” - Alvin
“Gabby, wag kang mag cha cha . ” - Rico again
“Gabby, let it flow, let it flow” - Rainier again
and many many more….. These were all advices I received from my fellow teammates. Geesh. I thought it was easy but it’s not. It turns out that most of my throws roll smoothly…..in the gutter lane. Ha.ha. My hope was -20 for this game. Enjoy […]

I’m not a big fan of fighting games, but Street Fighter 2 made me buy a Super Nintendo almost 15 years ago (From the countless incarnations, I think I got the Turbo edition). The game was and still is a representation of what all 2d or 3d fighters are being compared to. Biggest quarter muncher of all time? I don’t have any figures to support this claim, but I would think so.
What’s worth noting about the game is the frustration the international gaming industry had to endure until Capcom finally decided to learn to count to 3. Aside from Will Wright’s the Sims, Street Fighter 2 probably had the most number of incarnations of any game. And to think the other editions aren’t even expansion packs. When Street Fighter 3 was released, it somehow drowned during the 32-bit console wars. Fighting games such as Toshinden, Tekken, and the blocky […]

In 2007, we saw NBA stars Jerry Stackhouse and The Black Mamba visit the country. The year before saw the likes of a yet unknown Dwight Howard, as well as a highly entertaining And1 crew come to our shores. Things have definitely been looking up for the Philippines in terms of basketball recognition. It is after all unofficially our “national sport”.
Don’t you wish actual NBA teams would come to the Philippines just like the recently concluded tour that is being done in China? Look no more guys, all of this can become a reality according to NBA Commissioner David Stern.
Team USA against an All-PBA selection? It’s not such a far-fetched idea anymore. Imagine Asi or Menk going up against the Man-child. Oh yeah.

I just have one question. How old is Atty. Henrietta Silos Mendez exactly? If she was the former MTRCB chair, then she must be pretty old. Add this huge generation gap to the fact that she’s not male, and you’ve got an obvious reason why she’s campaigning against videogames.
She’s never felt the satisfaction of coming back 10 pts down in the last 2 minutes of an NBA Live basketball game. Nor has she ever experienced watching the intro of Gran Turismo 1 for the very first time on the Playstation. Judging by the effect and crossover of today’s generation of videogames all over the world, videogames are here to stay.
It’s also MTRCB. Not MTRCV.

When I came back from the US in 2003, I told myself one thing - that I would never ever get into a job that I didn’t feel was perfect for me. With a little patience, I knew “The Job” would eventually come. Imagine my excitement when my good friend told me Summit Media was planning to bring in a video game magazine.
Knowing there weren’t a lot of videogame journalists in the country, I took a chance and was given an appointment for an interview by Summit Media publisher Lisa Gokongwei. I thought interview went well, as I was readily able to answer every question that was thrown at me. It was a week later that I heard from her again regarding the status of my application.
“I have already found someone who is perfect for the job, as he was the former editor of PC Gamer Philippines”. Ouch. She continued, […]

I received an instant message from a fellow officemate asking what will happened regarding my post about the mall wide sale in the metro because of the Glorietta 2 bombing situation. Me thinks, there’s an adverse effect on the mall shoppers with the current news being shown in the television. Aggravating the situation is a widespread of text messages circulating the mobile world right now. Result = Bomb Scare.
I am now having second thoughts as to whether or not to shop tomorrow.
Gabby One: (I don’t care approach)
C’mmon, its ULTRA MEGA SUPER SALE. For the kurips out there like you, it’s time to drool into red and yellow tags.
Gabby Two: (Paranoid approach)
But hey, you don’t want to spend the long day holiday vacation in a hospital bed especially right now that you have okeyguys.com. Right?
…and there’s Gabby Three?

A friend of mine happens to keep me updated with the recent bombing in Glorietta 2.
Initially, it was reported as an ‘LPG explosion’ but police authority confirmed that it was a bomb. The blast which hit the first level of Glorietta 2 shopping center leaves (as of this writing) 5 people killed and at least 40 injured.
Here’s the full news from GMANews.TV
At least six people were killed while at least 47 others were hospitalized after an explosion of still undetermined origin rocked a Makati City shopping mall at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The police on site had earlier traced the blast to an LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) tank but Director Gen. Avelino Razon Jr, PNP chief, said that an assessment by ground commanders showed that what exploded could be “a bomb.”
“Sa assessment ng ground commander, hindi LPG.Hindi pa natin masabi – it could be a bomb, pero […]
